The C3A proudly presents the Processes exhibition, showing the products of the furniture design workshop, an unprecedented experience in Andalusia, with the participation of ten local designers, including six architects, and four industrial design engineers (one still a student) The methodology employed was based on two main guidelines: the acceptance of the industrial nature of the objects, and adherence to a design process involving mutual inspection and discussion at each stage. In six intensive working sessions the materials, sketches and models made on the premises of each of the participants were examined and discussed, and there were visits to the workshops where the prototypes were to be produced, in order to familiarise the participants with the technologies available for the making of each item. The process was completed with the drawing up of "factory blueprints" for the manufacture of the prototypes using industrial processes.
The exhibition consists of the ten objects designed, and a glass display case showing the several creative processes used by means of sketches, drawings, and models. The directors of this workshop conceive these experimental exercises as the offspring of rationality, the world of industry, and contemporary art.
