Cachito Vallés. Dark Energy

Cachito Vallés. Dark Energy

From 1 October 2020 through 2021

Media and Atrium Curator: Álvaro Rodríguez Fominaya

Cachito Vallés' Dark Energy, 2020, is the fourth site-specific work to be commissioned by the C3A for its media wall. The piece is to be projected from first October 2020 until the end of 2021, from dusk until midnight, as the main projected work, although alternating with the other commissions. The best spot to view it from is the riverbank across from the building. Please check the museum's website for an updated schedule beyond February.

For the artist, this project relates to "an anarchical, two-directional, and savage time that was developed by primitive cultures and still prevails today". The title springs from a type of energy present in the universe. The abstract forms made for this project straddle the borderline between the organic and the gravitational. The images evoke cycles, pulses, or helixes that illustrate and represent this space-time vision.

Cachito Vallés (Seville, 1986) is a graduate in Fine Arts with an MA in "Art as idea and production" from the University of Seville. He has recently executed exhibition projects at the Luís Adelantado gallery in Valencia and the JM gallery in Malaga, and has shown his work at the Centre Pompidou in Malaga, the MAD museum in Antequera, and the Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporáneo in Seville

The installation Dark Energy (2020) is exhibited in the museum atrium gallery concurrently to the media wall project of the same title, until January 17th 2021.
