The C3A is honoured to present the group exhibition All the Sacred Tombs. This show is a curatorial device for examining the reinterpretation of history from a contemporary viewpoint as one of the major concerns of 21st C. artists. The emergence of history redaction as a focal point for research into artistic idioms is shown from different perspectives in this multifaceted polyhedron, but the artists included here represent only the tip of the iceberg of an underground current that exemplifies the depth of the debate. The ground covered in the selected works encompasses such notions as decolonisation, multinationality, violence, and ethics in a global context, and is inspired by the clear-eyed analytical views of such historians as Faisal Devji, Homi Bhabha, and Edward W. Said.
